I have seen a lot of scams especially when I work with media and content. One scam is brand deals and crypto promotions. Someone sends you a message on Instagram or an email. They say they want to work with you and pay you.. Really they want your money or personal information. They want to get into your accounts.
They start by sending a message that looks professional. Their profile looks real too. Then they send you contracts and details. They try to make you trust them. After that they say you have to act. They say things like “there are a few spots left” or “you have to do this now”. Eventually they ask you to click on a link or send them money. They might ask for your login information. That is when people get hacked or scammed.
When I look back I see that there are signs that something’s not right. The email address does not look official. They do not have followers, on their social media profiles. The offer seems good to be true. They are pushing you to respond
The best way to protect yourself from these scams is to check the companys website. Make sure it is real. Never click on links that you do not know. Do not send money before you get something in return. Take a step back. Think about the offer. Ask yourself if it really makes sense. Fake brand deals and crypto promotions are scams that you should watch out for.
