About Me

My name is Gavin Fishkin, and I’m a freshman at the University of Nevada, Reno studying Business. I’m originally from Chico, California, and one of the biggest reasons I chose UNR was for the snowboarding. I’ve always loved being in the mountains, and Reno gives me the perfect balance of school and what I enjoy doing outside of it. I’m also part of a fraternity on campus, which has honestly been one of the best decisions I’ve made so far.

Why I Chose College

I chose to go to college mainly to build connections and have experiences that will open doors for me in the future. I want to create opportunities for myself and use this time to figure out what I want to build long-term. For me, college isn’t just about classes—it’s about meeting the right people and putting myself in positions where I can grow.

Skills and Strengths

My biggest strengths are working well with others, creativity, and problem-solving. I enjoy collaborating with people and finding new ways to approach challenges. I’m always open to new ideas and like learning things that push me outside of my comfort zone.

Career Goals and Interests

My main career goal is to start my own business. I want to build something that is completely mine and that I’m genuinely passionate about. I’m interested in creating something long-term that provides value to others while also giving me independence and freedom.

Personal Interests

Outside of school, I spend most of my time with friends and family. I love snowboarding, hiking, and exploring new places. I’m always looking for experiences that are fun and meaningful, whether that’s traveling or just getting outside and doing something different.

Passions and Future Goals

I’m passionate about learning things that will help me succeed in the future. My goal is to build a great life for myself and the people I surround myself with. Long-term, I want to build a successful business and have a happy family. Being able to provide for them the same way my parents provided for me is one of the biggest things that motivates me.
